Agent Accounts and Profiles

Who may have an account

Only individuals who hold an active insurance producer license with authority for health insurance, in at least one state, may open an Agent account or appear as an Agent on our sites. When you open an account, you confirm that your license and National Producer Number (NPN) are active and accurately stated, and that you will tell us within number business days if a license lapses, is suspended or revoked, or if you lose an appointment you need to sell the products you offer. We check license information against public records, such as the National Insurance Producer Registry, and may recheck it at any time. Anyone who opens an account under a false identity or with a false license will lose access immediately.

What your profile shows consumers

When a consumer's request is delivered to you, our consumer site may show the consumer your name, photo, NPN, the states you are licensed in, and the phone number you will call from, and the consent wording the consumer agrees to will name you. You confirm that all of this is accurate and that you will keep it current through your account. Your photo and profile text must show you, must not use an insurance company's logo unless you are authorized to use it, and must not promise prices, savings, or eligibility.

If you change agencies

Your profile and any reviews of you are tied to you and your NPN, not to the agency you work for. If you change agencies, your profile moves with you once you update your account. decide how quickly profile changes appear.

Consumer Reviews of Agents

If we offer consumer reviews of Agents, every review is subject to our Reviews & UGC Terms of Use and is checked for relevance and appropriateness before it appears. We do not remove or hide honest reviews because they are negative. You may not write reviews of yourself or of a competitor, ask anyone else to write a false review, offer anything of value in return for a review without requiring the reviewer to disclose it, or pressure a consumer to change or remove a review. We follow the Federal Trade Commission's rules on consumer reviews and testimonials.

Agent Responses to Reviews

You may post one public response to a review of you within number days of its appearing. Responses are checked before they appear and may be declined if they break these terms. A response must not include contact information, any of the consumer's personal or health information, or anything that would identify the consumer beyond what the review already shows.

Removal of Reviews

We generally do not edit or remove reviews; responding is the best way to address a review you disagree with. You may ask us to look at a review you believe breaks our Reviews & UGC Terms of Use, for example one that is fake, about a different agent, or contains personal information. Whether to remove a review is our decision.
